Interests:
Between bands, theatre and sound tracks, I've sung every thing from rock to blues, from jazz to
gospel and even classical. Everywhere from clubs, casinos, & the Hollywood Bowl to studio work on movie soundtracks
and demos for producers & writers.
BUT, my love is Rock, occasionally mixed with other genres.
Influences:
Not enough room, but I'll hit a few.
- Steven Tyler, Freddie Mercury & Steve Perry for lyrics
and melody range. Rockers from a time when vocal ability was an
important factor
in determining success as a singer.
- The music of the Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge, Finger Eleven absolutely ROCK!
- Pat Benatar for the vocals & the rock.
- Pink for attitude, and she can sing.
- Blondie for the
variety and mix of genres. Plus early Debbie for the fusion of sensuality and punk-ass attitude.
- Bon Scott of AC/DC. He had more character than most singers today.
- Jackie Wilson & Patsy Cline for the emotion, soul and
beauty of their instrument.
Bio:
Where have the female rock artists gone?
Industry insiders say Jennifer Rose is high energy modern hard rock with
classic rock influences. Her vocal style is most often described as powerhouse.
Born in San Diego to a military father and a
go-go dancing mother, Jennifer made her career choice early when, at the age of 3, she darted away in a crowded mall and was found
standing on a bench singing at the top of her lungs. Such outbursts are very common. Flash forward to age 16 when Jennifer joined
her first professional band as lead vocalist with band mates that had to sneak her into bars to perform. This was the beginning of
a professional career that involved classical training as well as numerous live performances and studio recordings with a variety
of cover and tribute bands as well as musical theatre productions involving rock, pop, jazz, classical, gospel and light opera, throughout
southern California and parts of Canada.
In 2008, Jennifer parted from her previous bands and began work on a demo CD of all
original rock songs. With a fist full of lyrics in one hand and her life’s savings in the other, Jennifer went in search of a producer
who understood her desire to bring back a modern, strong female-rocker figure influenced by the high energy rock of the 80’s with
a touch of the glam. As destiny would have it, a random contact from musician/producer Kevin Patrick, offered a unique chance for
collaboration. Within a few weeks, Jennifer was on a plane from Los Angeles, California, to the recording studio of Kevin Patrick
in Manhattan, New York. It turns out that they have a lot in common since Kevin had been the keyboard player for the band Blondie
since 2001, and one of the many bands Jennifer had fronted was a Blondie tribute band where she played Debbie Harry.
The 4-song
demo is now completed and receiving very positive reaction from fans and industry people around the globe. In the USA, Jennifer’s
songs have played on The Edge 100.1 FM - Los Angeles, KNYN MAGIC 99.1 FM - Colorado, “The Razors Edge Radio” - Minnesota, “Radio Ugly”
- Las Vegas, NV and “Maximum Threshold Radio” - Ohio. Over-seas, several UK radio stations have picked up her songs such as BLAST!
Radio 1386, “Metal Asylum Radio Show”, “Hair Metal Haven”, WYKKYD BRU Radio and “Sunshine LIVE” - Netherlands. Four additional songs
are now under way.
